YSoft SAFEQ Client v3: Role permission to deploy direct print queues

The main benefit of direct queues is that they are transparent to users; all print jobs are released at the print device as soon as they are accepted and (optionally) analyzed by a parser. Users will not notice any significant delay while the metadata of their jobs is captured for reporting purposes. Every direct queue has a unique name and is assigned to a particular print device.

Newly, an administrator can grant or restrict access to a direct queue from the management interface. Jobs delivered to a queue that is restricted to a specific role will be redirected to a shared queue. For more detail on access definitions read "Configuring Access Definitions".

Client v3 brings one more improvement in this area. Users only see those direct queues to which they have access. Searching for direct queues on Client v3 is also easier. See the "Direct Queues in YSoft SafeQ Client v3" article for more details on adding a direct queue to a workstation.

WebDAV was set as the default option for scan file delivery between server and MFD; FTP protocol is a fallback option. This change is a security improvement so please consider adjusting existing installations.
