Using YSoft Mobile Connect for Android
Prerequisites
A smartphone with:
Android 6.0 Marshmallow and newer (Android SDK 23+)
Bluetooth or NFC
Internet connection
An activation code – ask your IT department to obtain your activation code.
Installation of the application
The YSoft Mobile Connect can be installed from Google Play.
Registration
To register your phone in the YSoft ID Application, do the following:
Run the application.
The Welcome screen is shown at the start of the application. Tap Let's get started to register your phone. Note: As the state of the application is verified here, it may take a while to redirect to the next screen.
Enter your phone number (you may be prompted to select your phone number from a pop-up dialog) and tap Send code. An SMS with a 6-digit verification number is sent to your phone number.
Note: The phone number is used for verification and as device identification only. Y Soft does not collect additional user data or track any user activity.
Enter the verification number and then tap Verify.
Enter your activation code – you can type the code manually or scan a QR code a barcode. Tap Submit. The application will check and prepare your credentials file.
After everything is processed correctly, the following screen is displayed and you can start using the application.
Authentication on a card reader
After your registration is complete, you can use the YSoft ID Application to authenticate on card readers. Authentication by NFC is only allowed if your phone has hardware support for this method.
When you have activated both protocols (Bluetooth and NFC), you can see the Authentication button active (orange) and you can also use the authentication by NFC.
When you have Bluetooth disabled, but NFC activated. You can authenticate using NFC. The Authentication button is disabled because it is used for Bluetooth only.
When you have Bluetooth activated and NFC disabled. You can use the Authentication button to authenticate.
When you disable booth protocols, Bluetooth and NFC, you can't do anything with the application and you will be informed to enable at least one protocol.
Using NFC
To authenticate on a card reader using NFC, unlock your phone and place it close to the reader. If your phone is not recognized by the card reader, make sure the NFC is enabled on your phone or move your phone closer to the card reader.
Using Bluetooth
To authenticate on a card reader using Bluetooth, use one of the following methods:
Application method
Open the YSoft ID Application and wait for the authentication screen. Tap Authenticate and then place your phone close to a card reader. If your phone is not recognized by the card reader, make sure the Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or move your phone closer to the card reader.
Notification method
When you are close to a reader, you can authenticate without opening the YSoft ID Application. Roll down notification and touch Authenticate and then place your phone close to the card reader. If your phone is not recognized by the card reader or notification is not active, make sure the Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or move your phone closer to the card reader.
Settings
To change the display mode, go to Menu > Settings. Select one of the following themes:
System default – a theme from the system settings.
Light – A light theme not depending on the system settings.
Dark – A dark theme not depending on the system settings.
You can also handle notifications settings and how loud is it.
Off – Do not show notifications.
On – Show notification when a reader is nearby.
Beep – Vibrate and make some noise on a notification.
Vibrate only – Just vibrate on a notification.
Off – Just show notification without vibration or any sound.
